Beyond the result

Found your chemistry?
Put it to work.

A brand archetype gives your team a shared way to talk about personality. The useful next step is turning that idea into choices: what you say, how you sound, what you show and how people experience the brand.

Your quiz result is a starting point for discussion, not a verdict about your business. Compare it with customer evidence and the way the brand actually behaves. If your team disagrees, explore the reason before trying to settle everything with a score.

Positioning is the reason to choose you.

Define the audience, the need you meet, the alternative and the evidence behind your value. An archetype does not answer those questions for you.

Personality is how that value comes across.

Use the archetype to make choices about voice, creative and experience more consistent. It should support the position, not take its place.

Make three decisions before making more content.

  1. Choose the behavior. If your personality is helpful and knowledgeable, what will a visitor actually experience? Clear explanations, useful comparisons and easy access to answers are more concrete than a list of adjectives.
  2. Write voice principles. “Explain before you impress” is a useful direction. Pair it with a boundary, such as “no jargon without an explanation,” and show a sentence that follows it.
  3. Give creative a job. Decide what the imagery, type, color, pacing and interaction need to express. Use the customer context and the brand’s existing assets to guide those choices.

Same exercise. Four different businesses.

These fictional examples show how a personality can guide expression. They are not Carbon client work, claims of results or recommendations that an entire industry should share one archetype.

B2B / Sage influence

Make expertise approachable.

Before: “Transformative enterprise intelligence solutions.”

Direction: “Understand what changed. Decide what’s next.”

Use a plain-language explanation and a real product walkthrough. The team still needs to verify what the product can do and why a buyer should care.

Healthcare / Caregiver influence

Help people feel oriented.

Before: “A comprehensive patient-centric experience.”

Direction: “Know what to expect before your visit.”

Show the next steps, who can help and what information to bring. Warmth works best when the experience delivers on it.

Ecommerce / Explorer influence

Invite people into the experience.

Before: “Premium products for active consumers.”

Direction: “For the plans that take you outside.”

Use candid product-in-use photography and specific details that help shoppers decide whether the product fits their plans.

Financial services / Sage influence

Make the choices understandable.

Before: “Sophisticated solutions for your financial journey.”

Direction: “See your options. Understand the tradeoffs.”

Let clear comparisons and readable explanations carry the idea. Product claims and required disclosures still need the appropriate review.

Turn the result into a one-page brief.

Capture your audience, position, personality, voice principles, creative direction and one before-and-after example. Then review the brief with the people who create and approve the work.
