Give the whole buying team a reason to care.

Your software does something valuable. We help people see why it matters to their business—and give your champion a story worth bringing to the room.

What we do

Carbon helps B2B SaaS companies connect positioning, buyer research, content, creative and media. Our work focuses on making the value clear to the people who influence a software purchase, especially when a company is reaching new audiences or moving upmarket.

The demo is only part of the decision.

Your champion
needs backup.

The person who loves the product may not control the budget. A larger customer can bring operations, finance, IT and procurement into the conversation. Each arrives with a different question.

Your marketing should help them evaluate the same decision from different angles. What changes for the team? Why now? What will implementation ask of them? What proof makes the promise believable?

This page focuses on software buying and moving upmarket. Our broader B2B technology marketing work also covers complex technology businesses beyond SaaS.

The everyday user

“Will this make
work better?”

Show the workflow and the problem it solves in language people actually use.

The internal champion

“Can I make
the case?”

Give them a clear explanation, relevant customer evidence and material they can share.

The approving team

“Is this the
right commitment?”

Address fit, implementation and commercial questions with evidence your business can support.

A sharper story travels further.

Make the value
easy to repeat.

A long feature list can make very different products sound the same. We work back to the customer’s situation: what they’re trying to accomplish, what makes that difficult and why your approach is worth considering.

That thinking should carry through the website, the campaign and the material sales uses after the first conversation. Familiar language and relevant proof do more work than a new slogan on every channel.

Find the real point of difference.

Use buyer insight and competitive context to choose a position. Be specific about who the product is for and which alternatives buyers actually compare.

Equip the buying conversation.

Plan content around user, champion and evaluator questions. A useful guide or customer story should answer something that would otherwise slow the decision.

Reach the right audience.

Connect brand and media strategy to the market you want to grow into. Use account-based marketing where a defined list and sales capacity justify the focus.

Read the whole picture.

Separate audience reach, account engagement, relevant demos and sales opportunities. Product activation and retention may need a different owner and data source.

Less telling. More showing.

A bigger audience.
A brand built to reach it.

HubSpot

Carbon supported HubSpot’s move upmarket with audience research and global media strategy. The work helped bring its first global brand campaign to audiences across five regions.

The campaign delivered more than 450 million global impressions. That is a measure of exposure—not leads, customers or revenue attributed to Carbon.

Our role was research, strategy and media. The lesson for a SaaS business: decide who needs to see you differently, then connect the story and the distribution.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Before we get to work.

Here’s how we think about the work.

Do you only work on SaaS lead generation?

No. We connect buyer understanding, positioning, brand, content and media. The right assignment depends on whether the business needs clearer differentiation, a new audience, a better website or stronger demand.

Can you help a SaaS company move upmarket?

We can help with audience research, positioning, buyer-facing content and media strategy. Moving upmarket also involves product, sales and implementation decisions that need to be owned by your team.

Is SaaS marketing different from technology marketing?

SaaS has particular questions around users, champions, subscription value and adoption. It shares many B2B principles with other technology businesses, but the evidence and buying journey deserve their own treatment.

Do you have SaaS experience?

Our HubSpot work includes research, global media strategy and brand campaign support. The case study explains our role and the reported campaign reach so you can assess its relevance to your assignment.
